Howdy Darters !!!
Well, I've had a
fantastic start to the Betfred.com League of Legends, drawing with
Peter Evison in Round 1, and then beating both John Lowe and Cliff
Lazarenko by 7 legs to 2 in weeks two and three. Full results, pictures and stories are on the League
of Legends website. Dave Whitcombe is top of the table, and I'm in
second place, just one point behind.
Over the next 4
rounds, I play Dave Whitcombe in Batley on 18 July, Keith Deller at
Reading on 1 August, Eric Bristow at Bridlington on 8 August, and
finally Bobby George in Stoke on 15 August.
Then, whoever is in
the top 4 positions in the table, plays off on semi-finals and
finals night at The Circus Tavern, Purfleet on 22 August. Needless
to say, I'm feeling pretty good about qualifying.

The nights themselves are really great, with lots of banter between
the players in the practice room. Just like old times really ! Every
one of the players is really serious about the games, and no one is
treating it like an exhibition. We all have fire in the belly to
win. The crowds are getting bigger and better each round, and the
atmosphere, especially at the venues where the crowd is close up and
personal to the stage, is fantastic. I really recommend coming along
to one of the venues if you are able to. Tickets are £20 for 2, if
you quote "Sunday People - 2 for 1 offer".
I hope to see many of you at the League of Legends venues all over
the country, and also at some of my exhibitions, which are listed on
this site, accessed by the "Exhibitions - then the month" button.
